It was a dark and stormy night in October of 1995. Actually, I remember it was dark but I'm not positive about the stormy part. At any rate, this was the appointed time for the birth of Allen Creative. Surely you remember all the media attention this received from the national press. No? Doesn't sound familiar? Maybe you were on vacation. Grab yourself a cup of coffee and I'll give you the Reader's Digest version.

It happened in a place called Snellville, Georgia. Yes, THAT Snellville - the upcoming creative Mecca of the new millennium. Word of the new company, Allen Creative, spread throughout the greater Snellville area, including the outlying business support community known as Atlanta. Creative powerhouses in Minneapolis, Boston, New York, and LA did their best to maintain calm as they began to feel yet another round of shock waves from the epicenter of advertising and graphic design.

Faced with the dilemma of whether to open the doors of the new business with a humongous staff or, perhaps, just one person, a unanimous decision was made in favor of the single digit. From this meager beginning Allen Creative has grown to become the incredibly small company that it is today. Small like a bullet. Small like a diamond.

Allen Creative. What does that mean? Advertising? Graphic design? Underwater basket weaving? Well ... yes, yes, and maybe (but not likely). Allen Creative is a creative communications company that encompasses, but is not limited to, graphic design and advertising. Our objective is to develop creative, appropriate and powerful communication elements (both visual and verbal) that solve problems and maximize potential. (By the way, if this is getting boring, you can go to the top of the page and click on the word "Portfolio")

The "Allen" part of "Allen Creative" refers to company founder Steve Allen (not to be confused with the late world famous comedian / musician / author / television personality / former-Tonight-Show-host / husband-of-Jayne-Meadows known by the same name). Rumors that the popular comedian was named after our founder (who happens to be much younger) are obviously just that -- rumors!

Before starting Allen Creative in 1995, Steve's career path included stops at two design studios, three advertising agencies, and one corporate art department (Hallmark Cards). Along the way he has had the privilege of meeting and working with a great number of wonderful and talented people whose influence and example have helped to shape what is now Allen Creative.

He has won and subsequently misplaced a number of awards for his advertising and design work over the years. His work has also been published in design annuals and books. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Every talent, skill, and ability that we possess is in one way or another a gift from God, our Creator. We design with our brains but we did not design our brains. Our deepest thanks to the One who did.
